MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man was sentenced in federal court for conspiracy to commit bank fraud and bank fraud, according to the Department of Justice.
A USDOJ news release said 45-year-old Travis Sopson pleaded guilty to defrauding a number of banks and credit unions from August 2022 to January 2023 by applying for and getting multiple loans using fraudulent documents.
Sopson was sentenced to 46 months in prison, as well as five years of supervised release after his term. He was not charged any fines, but was ordered to pay $274,722.21 in victim restitution and $200 in special assessments…
