MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – In addition to celebrations, Labor Day was marked by demonstrations in downtown Mobile and nationwide to remind Americans about the working class.
The group Indivisible Mobile sponsored the protest, which organizers titled “Workers over Billionaires.” Community activists and supporters marched from Spanish Plaza to Government Plaza.
“We are pro-democracy, and we believe that what’s happening in this country is not democracy,” said Maura Mandyck with Indivisible Mobile. “You can see, as you mentioned, there are lot of different causes here because there are a lot of different catastrophes, a lot of crises going on as well.”…
