CITRONELLE, Ala. (WALA) – Citronelle police are investigating after a car was stolen and found burned over the weekend.
Investigators say they received a call on Sunday morning about a kia being stolen on Tammy Lane. Citronelle police say broken glass was found in the driveway and they believe the car was hotwired. The vehicle was found burned on Malone Road Sunday afternoon. Chief Chris McLain says the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating a similar incident in Chunchula and they believe both cases are connected. The chief also says this is a strange case that they hope to resolve soon.
“Periodically we’ll have someone breaking and entering vehicles but those are vehicles that most of the time the doors are left unlocked. It’s very rare for someone to be breaking the glass and then making entry in that vehicle and hotwiring it,” said Citronelle Police Chief Chirs McLean. “We believe them to be either juveniles or very young adults that committed these crimes.”…
