BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – Homeland Security Investigators have confirmed a man indicted in the deaths of two teenagers killed riding a scooter in Foley is in the U.S. illegally.
According to HSI, 21-year-old Christopher Sanchez Mendoza from Honduras was in the country illegally when authorities said he hit a scooter on County Road 65 in Foley, killing 19-year-old Brandon Palencia and 18-year-old Cesar Chavez, both from Guatemala.
The crash happened the night of April 13. At the time, no charges were filed, but now, a grand jury has indicted Mendoza for criminally negligent homicide.
