Mobilians remember Tim Camp and the legacy he left

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Tim Camp, a long-standing radio broadcasting legend in Mobile, has died.

A recent Facebook post from 92.1, The Zew radio station, announced that Camp died on Saturday, Sept. 13, just two days after his 73rd birthday.

Camp, a founder of the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, was part-owner of 92.1 The Zew, 92.5 The Soul of Mobile, 96.5 The Crab, and WNSP 105.5, the country’s first 24-hour FM sports station.

Those who worked with Camp say he was a “legend.”…
