MOBILE, Ala. – A five-year-old boy died Thursday night after his home became engulfed in flames. Fire fighters pulled the child out of the home, but he later died at the hospital. His 12-year-old brother managed to escape. The children were the only people home at the time the flames erupted. Brashaud Richardson was on his Sharon Drive back porch when his 12-year-old next door neighbor ran over for help and said his five-year-old brother was trapped inside their burning home.
“We were really panicking for real, for real, trying to get the firefighters out here, because the house, the power lines on the side of the house, started sparking and catching on fire. The bushes on the side of the house started catching on fire,” said Richardson.
