MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A California man awaiting sentencing in a drug and money laundering case in Alabama will have to remain behind bars until that sentencing date.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Bradley Murray on Wednesday denied a request by Mohammed Zohair Adi to reconsider his decision to revoke the defendant’s conditions of release. The judge previously ruled that Adi has had improper contact with co-defendants. The defendant, who has been held at Mobile County Metro Jail since Oct. 1, will remain there until his sentencing next month.
Adi, 58, pleaded guilty in 2023 to conspiracy to commit money laundering. He admitted that he and others spent drug proceeds in Mobile on investments in nine California properties…
