ELSANOR, Ala. (WRKG) — The Baldwin County community breathed a sigh of relief as a historical marker feared to have been stolen was found.
Two Lucedale residents accused of barcode scam at Mobile Walmart
Investigators with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office got a call last week that the Elsanor community’s historical marker was missing from its spot near the Elsanor Community Center on Highway 90. The marker explains the origins of the community, dating back to the early 1900s.
“With anything, we say, if you see something, say something,” Captain Daniel Steelman with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said.
While residents spoke up, the Baldwin County historical society didn’t, at least not right away. Daniel Steelman with the sheriff’s office says deputies reached out to the society, but didn’t get a response for days…
