The Fanny Meisler Trauma Center at USA Health University Hospital has been verified as a Level I trauma center by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma, making it the only ACS-verified trauma center between Mobile and Birmingham and one of two in the state. Verified trauma centers must meet the essential criteria that ensure trauma care capability and the highest level of institutional performance as outlined by ACS.
