MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — Charges have been upgraded for a murder suspect accused of breaking into Wilmer Hall Tuesday night and shooting a pregnant woman in front of their 10-month-old baby. David Smith now faces three capital murder charges for shooting 20-year-old Amiayia White multiple times. That means prosecutors could seek the death penalty. The shooting occurred almost four months to the day White filed a petition in court seeking child support from Smith for their son. White was living in transitional housing at Wilmer Hall.
“Essentially, a home for individuals or families due to poverty, abuse, neglect or homelessness,” said Wilmer Hall’s attorney Russell Buffkin.
