MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — According to MCSO, on Friday, October 31, 2025, Corrections Officer Tyler Simms was stabbed in the chest by inmate Jeremiah Jackson (DOB 01/14/1994) while serving breakfast trays.
The weapon used by Jackson was a “shank” he made while in Metro Jail.
