BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – A wanted contractor from Baldwin County, accused of defrauding clients out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, is now facing charges, according to the Orange Beach Police Department.
Investigators said Fredrick Joseph Straub is charged with aggravated theft by deception after allegedly taking $476,000 from a couple on Ono Island to build a home in 2024. Authorities said he used $176,000, never finished the work and disappeared.
This comes six months after OBPD made a Facebook post, asking for potential victims of Straub, who they said owns Straub Builders LLC or Straub Professional Builders Inc., to call them.
