Cold weather shelters opening ahead of cold front moving into south Alabama, NWFL

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — With a cold front moving into the News 5 area on Sunday, Nov. 9, temperatures are expected to dip below freezing, leading some cold weather shelters to open.

According to the First Alert Storm Team, the cold front will move in on Sunday, with temperatures hitting the mid-30s, low-40s on Monday and mid-20s, low 30s on Tuesday.

Because of that, the Waterfront Rescue Mission will be opening its doors at its Mobile and Pensacola locations from Nov. 9 through Nov. 12.

McKemie Place in Mobile will also be opening as a cold-weather shelter for women starting on Friday, Nov. 7…
