LOXLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — Global steel manufacturer BUTTING USA broke ground on its new U.S. headquarters in Loxley.

The $61 million investment will bring 100 high-quality jobs to Baldwin County, according to Marcel Bartels, CEO of Division Plant Construction of BUTTING Group.
The 58-acre site in the Loxley Industrial Corridor will house the new facility that fabricates stainless steel spools, components, and cryogenic pipe systems.
Instead of the traditional groundbreaking, the German-based company planted a tree to symbolize its commitment to growing and thriving in Loxley for generations to come.
“This is a rooting ceremony, this is why we are here,” said Bartels. “We want to set our roots for a long history in the United States. This is where BUTTING is standing for. A seventh-generation, family-owned, and we are very proud that it continues in the United States.”
“It shows the growth of Loxley,” added Loxley Mayor Richard Teal. “Growing up here when Loxley was not a very big town, and personally to see the city grow and have all the amenities other cities have, it means a tremendous amount to me.”
