MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A mother says she and her two children are thankful to be alive after a car involved in a Mobile County police chase nearly hit them head-on on Grand Bay Wilmer Road.

Dash cam video obtained exclusively by WKRG News 5 shows the view of a woman’s car, who wishes to remain anonymous, driving northbound on Grand Bay Wilmer Road.
Jaylyn Hall was allegedly fleeing from law enforcement in a black Mustang in the southbound lane, but quickly swerved into the northbound lane to pass a car in front of her.
The mother quickly swerved into the grass to avoid a head-on collision. Her 5-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter in the backseat could be heard crying, “Oh my gosh! Mommy, I’m scared…”
Their mother quickly reassures them, “It’s okay, baby, it’s okay.”“But in the moment, I mean, I actually cut my head, and I didn’t get emotional yet,” she said. “It was just kind of one of those things where it was just instinct kicked in and I really didn’t understand what was going on yet,” said the woman.
“Somebody almost just killed us,” the woman said when recalling what she thought after realizing what had happened. “I’m just happy that I didn’t react irrationally or freeze up or anything like that. We just missed each other.”
