MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A man from Wilmer has been sentenced for firearm possession, according to a news release from the U.S. District Attorney’s Office.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on April 21 of this year on Trace Lane. Deputies found a 17-year-old boy with gunshot wounds deceased upon their arrival.
Jason Paul Covington, 43, was identified by witnesses as the shooter, the release said.
