New fire chief appointed to Mobile Fire and Rescue Department

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Mobile has a new fire chief, appointed on Tuesday at the Mobile City Council meeting.

Chief Barry Glisson has served with the Mobile Fire and Rescue Department for more than 20 years. He said he is grateful to continue serving the Port City as the new chief.

Since July, Chief Glisson has served as the interim fire chief after his predecessor, Johnny Morris Jr., retired.
