The night that never ended: Mobile County prosecutors target Glock switches

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – One pull of the trigger three years ago changed Mikayla Tillman’s life forever.

The Mobile woman was enjoying a night out with friends when gunfire ripped through a downtown nightclub, leaving her partially paralyzed from the neck down and wounding three others.

The gunman used a Glock pistol modified with a tiny piece of plastic. At the time, that machine-gun conversion device was legal in Alabama. Since March, though, a ban on so-called Glock switches has been on the books. It is a Class C felony, with a penalty range of one to 10 years on prison…
