MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — “A close call, but, hey, like I said, I’m still alive, cause a lot of people said I was dead… (laughter) But I’m still alive!” said a busy Eddie Rodgers as he rushed to fill bar-b-q orders Tuesday night. “Still alive! And like I said we’ll be open tomorrow, rockin’ and rollin’, and I want to which everybody a Happy Thanksgiving!”
Eddie Rodgers was already open and serving up bar-b-q just hours after a fire came oh-so-close to shutting down his landmark restaurant on Mobile’s north side.
But the owner of Rodgers Bar-B-Q on St. Stephens Road is still here, thanks to quick work by the Mobile Fire and Rescue Department…
