One year since Hunter Slezak went missing after boating accident off Dauphin Island

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – It’s been one year since the tragic boating accident off Dauphin Island. The lives of the family and friends of the Slezak’s and Wooley’s forever changed.

Nov. 29, 2024, was the day after Thanksgiving. The day Sam Wooley, Michael and Hunter Slezak launched Wooley’s boat, “Marty Ann,” at Billy Goat Hole for a day of shrimping.

After hours out on the water, Michael called his wife Megan, to check in and say they wanted to stay out an extra hour because they were catching a lot of shrimp. But that was the last time she or anyone would hear from him…
