Mount Vernon man killed in Mobile County crash involving garbage truck

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mount Vernon man was killed Tuesday as the result of a collision with a garbage truck, according to an Alabama Law Enforcement Agency news release.

Just before 6 a.m. Dec. 2, Michael T. Martin, 71, was killed when the Jeep Compass he was driving hit a Freightliner garbage truck on Alabama 217 near the 23 mile marker, about four miles south of Citronelle.

Martin died at the scene. The driver and passenger of the freightliner were not injured…
