MOBILE COUNTY, ALABAMA — A 34-year-old Alabama mother accused of causing a high-speed crash that killed her 7-year-old son learned of his death for the first time during a court hearing, where prosecutors also revealed new details about the chaotic events leading up to the tragedy. Her father, who attended the hearing, says she struggles with severe anxiety and can “go from 1 to 100” when overwhelmed.
Mother Allegedly Fled Officers With Children in SUV Before Fatal Crash
According to investigators, Delyshia Molette was arrested on Nov. 4 after crashing her Infiniti SUV at speeds reaching 90 mph with her two young sons inside. The crash killed her 7-year-old and injured her 11-year-old.
During an earlier bond hearing, Molette reacted with shock and disbelief when informed in court that her youngest child had died, reportedly shouting:
