MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — On Tuesday, December 16, Mobile Mayor Spiro Cheriogotis will convene the first meeting of the “Safer Communities Task Force,” a group of local leaders focused on strengthening violence-prevention efforts across the City of Mobile.
This Task Force, established by Mayor Cheriogotis, will advise the city’s public safety leadership on data-informed strategies aimed at reducing serious violence and improving coordination among the agencies and organizations already working with at-risk youth and families in Mobile.
The group will include representatives from local public safety, public health, and educational institutions, as well as faith-based, social service, workforce development, and community organizations.
