Prichard Legacy Trail honors 16 landmarks pays tribute to city’s 100-year history

PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) – Prichard has several hidden gems that have been part of the city’s 100-year legacy. In honor of the anniversary, the Prichard Historical Commission set out to identify some of the most significant landmarks.

“We wanted to try to pepper the Prichard Legacy Trail with places and events that struck curiosity from civil rights to civil war,” said Jesse Norwood with the Prichard Historical Commission.

The list started with 35 entries and was narrowed down to 16 that will be part of the Prichard Legacy Trail. The sites range from historic churches to old railroad depots and former school sites…
