MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — This is supposed to be a joyful time of year, but many suffer from the “holiday blues.” Vets Recover on Springhill Avenue in Mobile provides support 24/7 for veterans in need. Founder John Kilpatrick says the distress calls typically start going up around Thanksgiving.
“There’s definitely an increase in calls,” said Kilpatrick.
Kilpatrick says it’s important to eat well, get enough sleep, and exercise. He also says having a network of people to support you is critical. He’s in a group chat of 40-50 veterans who check in on each other daily…
