Their food truck is famous for its burgers. Now they’re opening a restaurant.

The owners of an Alabama food truck with a reputation for award-winning smashburgers will soon open a brick-and-mortar restaurant with a (slightly) expanded menu.

For three years in a row, Frank N Lola’s food truck has won the People’s Choice award in the annual Mobtown Burger Week competition held by Restore Mobile. In 2024 it also won the sales award with its Supernova Burger, featuring fried brie cheese, smokey bacon jam and hot honey aioli.

Now owners Kyle and Christina Urrutia plan to open a restaurant at 8887 Grand Bay Wilmer Road, north of Interstate 10 in Grand Bay. Equipment is due to be delivered after Christmas, and Kyle Urrutia said they’re aiming for a mid-January opening…
