FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WALA) – Federal agents say two illegal immigrants on expired visas are now charged after they scammed a Fairhope couple.
According to court documents, Pradeep Patel, who is from India, and Saurav Sharma, from Nepal, convinced a couple to buy gold bars to protect their bank account from hackers.
All of this unfolded in August when investigators said the victim got a pop-up message on her iPad, saying her Apple account was compromised and to call someone named “Scott Gibson” to fix the issue…
