First family of 2026 to receive home from Habitat for Humanity in Theodore

THEODORE, Ala. (WKRG) — A new year is bringing a new home to a family in Theodore through Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama.

According to a Habitat for Humanity news release, Samuel Walwyn and Arelis Ballart will receive the keys to their new home in Theodore on Jan. 9.

The home, which was built in a Habitat neighborhood, is the fourth one being dedicated on that street.

“We are excited for this sweet couple to finally have a place they can call home,” says HFHSWA Executive Director Courtney Rouse-Heinz. “This is the 10th house that we’ve been able to provide for deserving homeowners over the past two years.”…
