Mobile County family seeks answers four months after man’s disappearance

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A Mobile County family is desperate for answers four months after Edmund Reed disappeared.

Edmund Brent Reed was last seen September 22 at the intersection of Lott Road and University Boulevard in Eight Mile. Someone called police that day about a man blocking traffic at the Hill Trucking dirt pit. A Semmes police officer responded and found Reed. The officer later dropped Reed off at Lott Road and University Boulevard. No one has seen him since.

Search efforts continue

Washington County Sheriff’s deputies searched a wooded area in McIntosh with a drone Tuesday. They are listed as a contact for tips in this case.

Reed is 60 years old, five-foot-ten, and weighs about 130 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair. When he disappeared, he was wearing a maroon T-shirt and khaki pants.

Reed is a member of the MOWA Choctaw tribe. The U.S. Department of the Interior says Native American people face a higher risk of violence and going missing nationwide…
