Testimony concludes in trial of accused Mobile ‘kingpin’ Glennie McGee

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Testimony concluded Thursday in the trial of accused drug “kingpin” Glennie Antonio McGee.

Federal prosecutors spent the better part of two weeks laying out evidence that they contend shows McGee oversaw a multimillion-dollar drug distribution network that used children as couriers. The investigation came to light last year after a raid that turned up a 3-year-old boy with a backpack full of cocaine.

The evidence included video taken from a camera secretly installed on a light pole across from the home of McGee’s mother, where an investigator testified that the defendant conducted much of his business. Jurors also heard conversations secretly recorded on wiretaps and a bug that agents secretly installed in McGee’s Cadillac Escalade…
