Flood-trapped mother dog and puppies saved by rescuers in southern Mississippi

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A mother dog and her newborn puppies were rescued last Friday after floodwater surrounded the area where they were chained outside, prompting an urgent response from local animal rescuers.

The dog was left attached to a chain near a doghouse as rising water surrounded her and her eight newborn puppies, forcing her to bark for help as the puppies clung to life.
