Prichard officials urge residents to seek shelter as dangerous cold weather grips area

PRICHARD, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Prichard will open a cold weather shelter over the next few nights, as forecasts call for temperatures in the 20s and “feels like” temps in the single digits.

According to a City of Prichard news release, the shelter will be open Sunday at 5 p.m. at the Ronald K. Davis Safe House at 2805 Whistler Street in Prichard. The shelter will remain open until Wednesday, Jan. 28, at 9 a.m.

“Residents are encouraged to share this information with anyone in need of warm shelter, particularly seniors, families, individuals without heat, and individuals experiencing homelessness,” the release said…
