MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – A contractor on Monday pleaded guilty to participating in a massive fraud conspiracy against the water system that serves Prichard and Chickasaw.
The reputed head of that scheme, Nia Malika Bradley, also was supposed to plead guilty. But her case has been postponed until Friday.
Steve Jones, 61, is one of three independent contractors named in the indictment. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail, bank and wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, bank fraud and filing a false tax return.
