Mobile man posed as police officer during murder, prosecutors allege

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – David Patrick Kyles was on the phone with his girlfriend in October 2014 when he saw a police car behind him, a prosecutor told jurors Tuesday.

Only, it wasn’t a police car.

Mobile County Assistant District Attorney Louis Walker said during his opening statements in the murder trial of Jervoris Scarbrough that the Ford Crown Victoria was decked out to look like a police car, with blue lights and even a license plate that had been stolen from a Mobile police officer…
