FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) – A new transportation corridor connecting Foley and Gulf Shores will begin construction soon through a partnership between Baldwin County and the two cities.
The route will connect US Highway 98 to Coastal Gateway Boulevard, providing an alternative to Highway 59 and the Baldwin Beach Express for north-south travel.
Work will soon begin on Foley’s James Road Extension, which will link Pecan Road, East Pride Boulevard and James Road into a continuous corridor. The project aims to give residents another route around town during heavy traffic periods.
