New amphitheater, splash pad, and more coming to Bayfront Park

DAPHNE, Ala. (WKRG) — A construction fence blocks the view of Mobile Bay at Bayfront Park in Daphne. However, the fence is not just for show — a $16 million park upgrade is underway.

New details released during bond hearing for kidnapping suspect in case of missing Theodore family

“We’ve got, of course, the amphitheater stage right there on the water. We’re going to have a splash pad for kids down there, brand new bathrooms,” Daphne’s Mayor Robin LeJeune told WKRG News 5. “We’ve got additional parking, a boardwalk, just a lot of great things going on down there.”

Drone images show how construction is coming along so far.

“It’s showing off the great natural feature of the bay for our community to have a great time to come down, enjoy the water, enjoy music, enjoy theater, and just be together,” Mayor LeJeune said.

People around here said they’re counting the days till this new hub opens…
