U.S. Navy warship brings over 300 sailors to Mobile to let the good times roll

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Mobile’s 2026 Mardi Gras Ship is in port, with more than 300 U.S. Navy sailors aboard the USS Farragut in town to celebrate Mardi Gras in the Port City.

Everyone aboard agrees they’re ready to let the good times roll.

“I saw what it was like in New Orleans. I can’t wait to see what it’s like here in Mobile, Alabama,” one sailor told News 5.

This guided missile destroyer brought more than 300 sailors here to Mobile to join in on the revelry.

“Well, I know there’s a couple of places you can get crawfish to eat around here, so I’m really excited to eat some crawfish,” Ryan Straughanz said. “And I’m excited to go to some parades.”…
