Man arrested following shooting in Citronelle, police say

CITRONELLE, Ala. (WALA) – A Citronelle man was arrested following a shooting Sunday night.

Citronelle police responded to a shooting on Woodland Drive around 10:24 p.m. Officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. The suspect, who is known to the victim, remained at the scene and was taken into custody without further incident.

Police recovered a .22 caliber long rifle at the scene. According to authorities, the suspect is a convicted felon and is not legally permitted to possess a firearm.
