Mobile ‘Window World’ employee accused of stealing co-workers’ personal banking account numbers

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – An employee of Window World of Gulf Coast in Theodore is accused of stealing personal information from dozens of her co-workers to sell on the black market.

According to court documents, 40-year-old Melanie Rowell of Pascagoula, downloaded “personal identifying information as well as personal banking account numbers, routing numbers, debit/credit card information belonging to approximately 68 employees/victims of Window World with whom she was employed by……with the intent of selling the information on the black market.”

She was booked into Metro jail Thursday.

Court records also show Rowell installed an application on her company-issued laptop that allowed her to access other employees’ computers without them knowing…
