ST. ELMO, Ala. (WALA) – Fire crews from three departments battled a brush fire in St. Elmo that also destroyed seven structures Saturday.
Crews from the St. Elmo-Irvington Fire Department, Theodore Dawes Fire Rescue and Grand Bay Fire Rescue were able to extinguish the flames.
Officials said high winds and dry conditions made it possible for the brush fire to spread quickly and become a major incident.
