Former Mobile firefighters plead guilty to theft charges

MOBILE, Ala. (NBC 15) — Jameson Smith and Braxton Akridge, former Mobile Firefighters, have both plead guilty of multiple counts of theft of property 3rd degree.

The pair was arrested in October 2025 and each was charged with one count of organized retail theft, and 5 counts of theft of property 3rd degree.

Smith entered his plea in late January just his trial set to begin, with the State agreeing to drop the organized retail theft charge, a felony, for Smith’s guilty plea in the 5 misdemeanor theft charges. He was sentenced to one year in Mobile Metro jail, which was suspended for years of probation…
