MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A fire destroys a home on Bay Road in Mobile early Wednesday morning. Crews were called to a home off Dauphin Island Parkway before 4 am.
When they arrived they found a home fully involved in flames. Firefighters were able to get the blaze under control in a matter of minutes but the fire heavily damaged the home. A fire official says one person was able to escape through a window. No one was hurt. The cause is under investigation.
The homeowner tells News 5 he was working on some improvement projects on one side of the house and thinks he fell asleep. When he woke up he was surrounded by flames and slipped out through a bedroom window…
