FOLEY, Ala. (WALA) – A man is jailed after authorities say a domestic argument escalated into a violent assault, ending when the victim’s & suspect’s 13-year-old son fought back.
Deputies were called around 8 p.m. Monday to a home off Underwood Road in Foley, where they say Daniel Hernandez-Lopez tried to strangle his wife during an argument, according to a news release from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say Hernandez-Lopez then went outside and was confronted by the couple’s 13-year-old son. The suspect allegedly lunged at the boy and tried to hit him with a bicycle. The sheriff’s office says the teen punched Hernandez-Lopez several times in the face, possibly knocking him unconscious until deputies arrived.
Authorities say Hernandez-Lopez appeared to be highly intoxicated and may have been under the influence of narcotics. Deputies also said he is not a U.S. citizen…
