Tree falls on car during storm in Chunchula

CHUNCHULA, Ala. (WKRG) — A very close call for a driver in Mobile County after a tree crashes on their car during Monday morning’s storm.

This happened in a rural area of Mobile county so it’s not a dense traffic area, but this accident is a reminder that severe weather can cause problems no matter where you are.

By sunup crews with the Alabama Department of Transportation were here tossing branches and cutting large limbs to remove this tree from Lott Road in Chunchula.

This happened at about 5 this morning before dawn as a strong storm line moved through this portion of Mobile County.

An official with Mobile County EMA says a tree fell onto a car. No one was hurt but it kept traffic jammed in this area for about an hour while fire crews responded to get the roadway clear.
