MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Saint Patrick’s Day brought a sea of green to the Gulf Coast on Tuesday, with celebrations stretching from a pre-sunrise breakfast to a parade through downtown Mobile.
Green Kegs and Eggs kicks off the day
O’Daly’s on Dauphin Street hosted its annual Green Kegs and Eggs breakfast, drawing crowds early in the morning for food and drinks. The event served as home base for the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick, who gathered in their green jackets to mark the occasion.
Glen Jones, owner of O’Daly’s, said the event holds personal significance.
“This is my favorite time of the year,” Jones said. “Bringing the community spirit and the friendship. We need something like that. With the current state of affairs overseas, I feel like we need a little love in our lives.”
