MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile man will spend decades behind bars for a New Year’s Eve shooting in downtown Mobile that left one person dead and several others injured.
Emotional testimony filled a Mobile County courtroom as a judge sentenced Thomas Thomas Jr. to 25 years for murder and 20 years for first-degree assault. Those sentences will run concurrently along with a 10-year federal sentence he is already facing.
“He pled guilty to both of these very serious charges. He will go to prison for a long time,” said Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood.
