Man, woman accused of sleeping in Mobile apartment without a lease: MPD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two Mobile residents were arrested over the weekend after they were found sleeping in an apartment unit that wasn’t theirs, according to the Mobile Police Department.

According to an MPD news release, officers were called to Manchester Park Apartments at 1621 Springhill Avenue just before midnight Friday in reference to a burglary.

When officers arrived, they found a male and a female had been detained by security after they were found asleep in one of the apartment units.

19-year-old Kaniya Evans-Hunt and 24-year-old Marcus Rogers were arrested and taken to Metro Jail. Evans-Hunt was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana and third-degree burglary, and remains in jail on $8,500 total bond.
