MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Part of Mobile Street will be temporarily closed during the day this week as Alabama Power works on power upgrades designed to make the Crichton area more reliable, especially during severe weather.
The road closure is part of a larger project to bring a more reliable and storm-resistant power system to residents, businesses and hospitals in the Crichton area.

Mobile Street between Spring Hill Avenue and University Hospital Drive will be closed this week from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Thursday, April 2.
Drivers will be detoured from Spring Hill Avenue to Stanton Road, and then to University Hospital Drive. Anyone headed to University Hospital should allow for extra travel time…
