“We’re so glad that it has lasted this long,” said owner Nelson Wingo. “We have been so blessed with loyal customers.”
Nelson Wingo’s Dad, Bill, started the place with his cousin Leonard Campbell way back when. Downtown Robertsdale looked a lot different back then, and as the town grew, so did the hardware store.
80 years later, Bill Wingo’s business motto is working just fine.
“My Dad told me in 1974, when I came back, always remember if you take care of your community, your community will take care of you,” said Wingo.
Campbell’s first opened in 1946, and while a lot has changed over the years, a lot has remained the same…
