Buc-ee’s’ Competitor Acquires New Locations In Gulf Shores And Foley

CEFCO convenience and fuel stores have been a staple Gulf Shores, Foley and Robertsdale, Alabama. Casey’s General Stores acquired Fikes Wholesale, the parent company of CEFCO Convenience Stores, for $1.145 billion, expanding its footprint by 198 stores, primarily in Buc-ee’s home state of Texas.

The deal makes Casey’s the third-largest convenience retailer in the U.S., with plans to rebrand the locations to Casey’s. A local CEFCO manager said the team was looking forward to the rebranding and that the acquisition paperwork was already complete.

The hallmark of its in-store offerings is its expansive pizza program, which has evolved over the years to include delivery and online ordering. Casey’s is the fifth-largest seller of pizza in the United States, according to their website…
